Today’s brides are also opting for more than just traditional white wedding attire, choosing instead almost any color. Especially hot for 2018 weddings are hues of pinks, blues, saffron-yellows or champagne gowns. Bridesmaids are also having more of a say in the cut and color of their own gowns by being allowed to choose their own.
Bridal hairstyles are also more relaxed. Loose beach curls, swept up and gathered by combs and topped by floral sprigs or crowns of baby’s breath. With subtle, glowing makeup that doesn’t take too long to apply, the finished look is completely personal.
Many brides and grooms are picking out themes venues, décor and food that have a far more personalized and casual feel about them. Couples are making use of vintage or beloved heirloom items such as vases, crystal and dinnerware that shows a more eclectic mix rather than having something that has an air of matching stuffiness.
Reception food has moved away from three-course meals to something akin to either homemade favorites or fare you often find at a potluck or carnival. Make way for ethnic favorites from Japan, India, Mexico and far-flung regions around the world or a food truck that can make food to order for guests.
The most important thing for couples to remember is it is their day and to let their personalities shine through every aspect of their wedding plans.
